Riopele in a consortium that will "Dress the Cultural Heritage"

back to news

Riopele, jointly with Calvelex, Lameirinho, Paulo de Oliveira, Polopique and Twintex, will invest in the initiative "Dress the Cultural Heritage" (Vestir o Património). The project aims to design and manufacture uniforms "for employees of some of the most relevant national monuments".

Within the scope of social responsibility, the uniforms, in the initial phase, are meant for employees from national monuments. Namely, Guimarães Castle, the Church of S. Miguel do Castelo, Paço dos Duques de Bragança and Alberto Sampaio Museum, located in Guimarães, considered a World Cultural Heritage city.

Those responsible for the Consortium believe that this initiative recognizes the "importance of Culture as a calling card of Portugal". Also, it intends to "dignify the image of an essential public service for disseminating Portuguese culture, both for national visitors and foreigners".

The presentation of the new uniforms took place on June 24th, in a solemn ceremony held at Paço dos Duques and attended by Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of the Portuguese Republic, on the occasion of the celebration of the Battle of S. Mamede.
