In the past year, Riopele has amassed over 50,000 hours of professional training involving more than a thousand employees.
The ‘Horizontes’ programme, a company initiative since 2012 developed internally by the Human Resources department, provides all workers with opportunities to participate in conferences, external and internal training sessions, particularly highlighting the "Product, Process, and Control" Workshop.
With the aim of promoting general knowledge regardless of job function, “we want to value the role of each person, and so, we have built a continuous development program for our human resources,” stated the project's main mentor, Bernardino Carneiro.
Since 2012, the company has invested over 1 million euros in external training. Regarding internal training, the company currently has 95 trainers dedicated to contributing to the development of new skills and knowledge among other employees. By 2025, Riopele aims to achieve a total of 168,000 hours in training.
According to the Riopele’s President, José Alexandre Oliveira, “this investment aims to adapt the level of knowledge and skills of workers to new technological, organizational, and relational needs, while simultaneously promoting their employability.” For José Alexandre Oliveira, “Riopele believes that by stimulating each person's individual interests and equipping them with a comprehensive understanding of the business, better results can be achieved.”
As part of this project, there are also internships programme, which play an important role in integrating young people into the job market and creating employment opportunities, promoting “a rich and rewarding professional experience in the textile and fashion industry, giving them the opportunity to showcase their potential and value,” concluded Bernardino Carneiro.
