Convention gathers Riopele agents

back to news

On 19 and 20 June 2017, the agents who work with Riopele came to the company’s facilities to attend the regular half-yearly business review meeting with the Board and the sales team.

Germany, Belgium, China, South Korea, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Sweden were the markets represented in this convention.

In the closing meeting of the first day, José Alexandre Oliveira, Chairman of Riopele, began by revealing the overall results achieved in the first semester of 2017 and presented the prospects outlined for the second semester of the year.

The session continued with interventions by three agents – from China, Germany and the United Kingdom – who offered a short description of the economic situation in their countries and highlighted Riopele’s strengths and opportunities in those regions.

Then, before closing the meeting, José Alexandre Oliveira stressed the need for optimism with regard to the challenges of the future and announced the launch of an investment project worth approximately 8 million Euros for the 2017-2020 period.

As a way of celebrating Riopele’s 90 years of activity, José Alexandre Oliveira invited all those present for a dinner in the I&D department’s workspace.

It was a pleasant moment of social interaction shared by the Riopele team and the Agents, which ended with everyone gathered around the 90th anniversary cake singing an emotional “Happy Birthday” to Riopele.

The following morning, Giovanni Bonotto, a stylist who works in partnership with Riopele, gave a presentation on social trends and phenomena and their impact on consumer behaviour and the fashion world.

After a short break, Giovanni Bonotto and Carlos Costa, responsible for the Riopele collections, showed the agents the new fabrics that are being developed and manufactured by Riopele for the AW 18/19 collection.

These fabrics will soon be presented in the most important fashion fairs, from which we highlight Blossom Première Vision (in Paris), Milano Unica (in Milan), View Premium Selection (in Munich) and The London Textile Fair (in London), in July; Munich Fabric Start (in Munich) and Première Vision (in Paris), in September; Modtíssimo (in Porto) and Jitac (in Tokyo), in October.
