The Deputy Minister for the Economy visits Riopele

Riopele received a very illustrious visitor, João Neves, the Deputy Minister for the Economy on June 26, in an initiative towards the promotion of a closer contact with textile companies and entrepreneurs as well as assessing the challenges stemming from the post-COVID-19 scenario.

Along with João Neves, other visitors also visited Riopele, including Bruno Matias, Advisor to the Deputy Minister, Nuno Mangas, Chairman of IAPMEI and Augusto Lima, Councillor for the Economy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the City of Famalicão.

After the guests arrived at Riopele’s foyer, José Alexandre Oliveira, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Bernardino Carneiro, Director, greeted the Deputy Minister and his retinue, demonstrating Riopele’s willingness to share its experience and business expertise, aimed at economic recovery and the creation of employment.

Then, on a tour led by the Directors of Riopele, the retinue visited the R&D, Logistics, Finishing, Dyeing (Olicor), Quality Control, Spinning (Olifil) and Weaving areas, which are testimonies to Riopele’s innovative vision and industrial strategy and significant investments, amounting to 30 million EUR in the past seven years.

At the end of this visit, João Neves, Deputy Minister for the Economy, praised Riopele’s sustainability and innovation strategy and highlighted its investment in the digitization of the company and the monitoring of its production areas. He also highlighted the efforts of the company towards employee retention and the decision of the company to fully resume its activity.
