On May 30, 2016, 39 Dutch students from the recognized and prestigious European fashion industry school, TMO Fashion Business School, visited Riopele.

The group were received at the R & D Centre by the Director Bernardino Carneiro, on behalf of the Riopele Group Board of Directors. The delegation also included two TMO teachers and a representative of the ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal.

After the initial reception, Bernardino Carneiro led a welcome session with the group, stressing the importance of Riopele as a living example of the textile industry in Portugal and Europe.

He further added that these initiatives promote on the one hand, contact, the exchange of experience and closer ties with leading international universities and technological centres of the fashion industry; and on the other hand, integrate the social responsibility of the company, as these visits contribute to the development of students as future professionals.

At the beginning of their visit, the students watched the company's corporate video, and were then divided into three groups for the second stage of the visit. The groups visited the areas of Spinning, Weaving, Dyeing, Finishing, Quality Control, Logistics, R & D Centre and the Modelling Centre, with a short lunch break in the Riopele canteen.

Along the way, the heads of each area explained the process and answered any questions or doubts that the students had. On the completion of the area visits, the students returned to the R & D Centre, where they attended a presentation on Riopele business activity in the Dutch market.

They were also given a press pack in order to take away further information on Riopele and a photograph of each group was taken in the Finishing area.

At the end of the visit, the student delegation was invited for a light meal, which concluded with the traditional outside group photo.

The students were visibly satisfied with everything they had learned, as it was the first time they had seen the textile production process in loco. The student group thanked the Riopele team for their commitment and dedication.
