In August 2019, Riopele obtained Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification, awarded by the entity Textile Exchange, which regulates the use of this eco-label, a certification that is held in high esteem by our principal clients.
Hence, Riopele has joined a group of global companies whose recycled products are certified in accordance with the aforementioned standard, in compliance with the requirements for products with recycled material, social and environmental principles and restrictions in relation to chemical substances used in the production process.
Control Union, an approved certification body, conducted an audit of Riopele last July with the aim of ascertaining the veracity of the compliance with the requirements established by the standard.
The initiative of the Company´s recently created department of sustainability was a determining factor in achieving this strategic management goal, in addition to the immediate engagement of managers and employees, whose involvement made a significant contribution to this success, thereby reinforcing the reputation of Riopele as an international benchmark with regard to sustainability.
