Among the most relevant milestones featured in the report are the investments in clean energy. Riopele is finalizing a new rooftop photovoltaic project with approximately 5,200 solar panels and an installed capacity of 3MwP. The company already operates two photovoltaic parks. The Polo B facility, completed in 2024, includes approximately 8,000 panels, an installed capacity of 4.5MwP, and covers an area of 22,000 m². With the completion of this third project, Riopele will operate the largest photovoltaic park in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the ten largest in Europe.
As part of its continuous employee development strategy, Riopele is in the final stages of preparing the inauguration of the Riopele Academy. This initiative will provide a comprehensive training program to its more than 1,000 employees, reinforced by strategic partnerships and anchored in the company’s deep knowledge of the textile sector.
Considering the impact of its activity, the company has also invested in responsible water management, ensuring that all water used in production is properly treated and safely returned to the water cycle. In 2024, this commitment enabled 54% of the water used in production to be recycled and reduced.
To eliminate all hazardous chemicals from its value chain, Riopele’s chemical management strategy focuses on selecting safer and more sustainable products for people and the environment, while reengineering production processes and product design to improve efficiency and reduce consumption. In 2024, these measure resulted in a 83% reduction in chemical substances classified under ZDHC.
