FCF. Riopele repellent finish, free of persistent chemicals

The FCF (Fluoro Carbon Free) finish is based on a modified resin formulation, developed as an alternative to traditional long-chain PFC-based water and oil-repellent treatments. This evolution responds to the growing pressure on the sector: preserving material functionality while reducing dependence on solutions with greater environmental impact.

Free from fluorocarbons, FCF ensures effective repellency to water and aqueous-based liquids, maintaining performance even after several washing cycles. "This is a particularly relevant feature in a context where durability is no longer just a matter of performance but has become part of the sustainability equation", highlights Ângela Teles, Sustainable Product and R&D Project Manager at Riopele.

By making garments easier to maintain and extending their lifespan, the finish helps reduce the need for frequent washing, promoting fabrics that are not only functional at the moment of purchase but continue to perform over time.
